From the perspective of a camp I/C, here are my experiences at the camp:
Day 1 (23th May, Wednesday)
When I first reached school, my first briefing was from Mr Kung, which officially started both the camp and the usage of "thick skinned" throughout the camp. After that, we decorated both our scoresheet and our objective sheet. We wasted WHOLE load of time become pratically everyone was slacking there.. So when the trainer (only A'an) threatened to give us only 5 minutes did we really started drawing and stuff like that. -.-
The scoresheet was VERY nice (thanks to YanEr) while the objective sheet (drawn/written by me is like.. horribly ugly. :( )
Our first activity for the day was.. FIRST AID. We learnt many things.. ya.. and yeaps, learnt how to tie an arm bandage on a person. :P I tried it on Sivam and.. it looks that people whom I help with using First Aid is going to suffer terribly. So after that, we had a skit to demostrate what we've learnt. ROFL. Firstly, ZhiHua was one of the actor.. Then when someone commented that another girl and him is going to be a couple in the skit, he backed out suddenly.. >:( So Shaun and me had to LAST-MINUTE (yes, last minute = the teacher calling us to do it quick and he backed out.) become the main leads. X=
Next activity: Low Ropes
It was rather interesting at the part where there is a pair and they try balancing on a pair of ropes, and placing both their palms on the other party and try, using the strength that your partner gave to you by pushing you, you try to walk across the rope. There is also this spidey-webby game where all the members have to cross over to the other side by using methods to cross through holes. The interesting part was when a few boys tried carrying Shaun over the highest hole. ROFL! It looks so .. wrong. LOL.
Up next was Camp Preparation.
We took hours to prepare, so my trainer reuqested Shuyi and Awad to be in-charge. Then they requested for another 2 to help them. ROFL. & Shuyi chose me. (GRR) Reason being I know alot of English songs. . . Well, so we started asking around for suggestions for a cheer. No-one replied.. So we thought hard of what to do. (Trainers didn't help us AT ALL) Thank god Sinvyest and company gave us a suggestion and carried it out. :)
THE NEW GAME..
The difficulty increases as there are lesser people and the speed increases. You'll tend to forget saying Tongka! or Tooki Tooki! or use the wrong actions or get tongue-tied etc. :)
The last activity for the day was Blind Man's Trail.. It was rather boring, considering the fact that they did not really bring us up and down the stairs.. The good thing is that they keep changing people around, making you feel curious of who is in front of you and back of you. Sometimes the person leading will be changed too. ;)
& LIGHTS OUT @ 11.45PM..
I'm not sure what fasicinated the guys in my classroom. They were playing with torchlights on the fan until Mr Kung came in. Finally managed to fall asleep..
Day 2
ASSEMBLY @ 7.20PM.
So we started by planning at the Bus Arrival Station with the map given on where do we go first. As a matter of fact, we were actually VERY DISORGANISED. Not everyone was discussing. Some people were having their own chat group, thinking that I/Cs are always in-charge of bringing them blahblah... So Mr Siew (teacher following us was very angry and scolded us). So in the end, thank god, everyone somehow 'co-operated' with me and Amanda (maybe they are acting who knows (; ) So with me, Amanda leading, we walked up the damn long and friggin hill and walked like mad to reach only the first stop, the Merlion.
We found the 2 statues near the fountain at the Merlion. The task.. Many of the groups were queuing to play it. Well, we skipped it and went on to our next clue, so information about the task will be revealed later. =D
2nd Clue: A picture of a shelter with snakes.
Clue to location: (Forgot what sentence) But is related to the Dragon Trail at Sentosa
Question: What are the names of the 6/8 snakes?
Task: Human Entanglement
After walking for a while through the trail, we saw the shelter. It was rather easy actually.. but the Group 12 blocked us from copying the answers. So many of us was rather angry, we managed to copy with permission from the trainer.. But somehow me and Amanda got into a quarrel which ended up getting questioned from Mr Siew. -.- lalala. Since Group 12 is taking lots of time to complete their task (the trainer say only 1 group at a time, but when we came back we saw 2 groups playing. -.- ) so we decided to proceed to the next clue.
3rd Clue: A picture with the sign "Mt. Imbiah"
Clue to location: A picture of a mini "water fall" and a dragon fountain.
Question: I forgot too. ;p
Task: Draw the pictures of the different islands from the viewing window
Yes, doesn't Mt. Imbiah sound familiar? Actually, one part of Sentosa is called "Imbiah Lookout". And the picture of the dragon tells me we should proceed on through the trail. T.T Firstly, it's VERY slippery.. Secondly, it's DAMN steep. Thirdly, it's a long way up there, and the worst thing is that we're not sure if we're right. Fourthly, my shoe is going bonkus. +) We walked a while before we saw the "water fall". Then after walking for a while more, we still a fork path. One way is to carry on walking or walk down to the Siloso Beach (where we have another clue). Mr Siew, one who called himself 'experienced' since he tried the race the day before, told us to go down the stairs. After a while, we decided to carry on (SEE! We have determination one ok?) 'cos Shaun saw a sign with a picture of a dragon which looks rather familiar to the clue given. By then, Mr Siew was given this bu-shuang face to us and don't want to carry on walking. We ignored him (I'm so proud of myself) and with the trainer and the other teacher (female who is EVEN MUCH MUCH MORE motivating than Mr Siew) carried on walking. TOP SECRET: Actually, the female teacher whom I forgot her name told us that they way we're walking is correct. She only told me and Amanda (the 2 I/C). Yups, finally, we saw a steep staircase which looks very.. scary since there is no barrier and falling menas falling into a deep and dark forest (not kidding) so everyone slowly climbed up. Honestly speaking, I was VERY VERY scared. :P When we reached the top, we saw the sign! YIPPEES! I was very happy, and thank god we didn't follow Mr Siew's comments. So we completed the task, met some people who called themselves the "ex-gessians" and left.
So back to the Leap of Faith. 17/18 of us was supposed to skip on a long rope together. 2 members will be in charge of moving the rope. The difficulty of this game is that, everyone of us are supposed to jump together and jump a total of 10 times! That is a feat ok? And the worst time is that we are only given 15 minutes, since we are going to rush for lunch. We didn't manage to complete the task. It was VERY difficult and I got scratched by the rope twice!
TASK FAILED. (We actually can come back and complete but we have no time. ): ): )
Back at the beach station, 1G group 14 (?) was half an hour late. Reporting time was 1.30pm but they arrived around 2pm. I'm wondering if there is any forfeit. ;O They wasted our half an hour. :( BOOOO~
After that, we immediately continued our race..
Clue: A picture of a sign "Slow Down now"
Clue to location: Part go-cart, part tobbagon (?)
Question: What is the price for a family of 4? (I kind of forgot how is it asked but it's something like this)
Task: Further-est Reach
It's really obvious if you have gone to Sentosa after they have added some new features there. LOL. Well, certainly, it's the luge at Sentosa. It's really near the Beach Station, so we went there immediately after that. Hmph. Alot of groups were already there. So after getting the answer for the question, we decided to carry on with the other 2 clues. One is on the same beach as the luge, the other one, have to cross over to another beach. Mr Siew (again) told us both is very far. So we have 3 choices - Stay and wait for our turn for the task; Go to either one of the clues. So we decided to ignore Mr Siew's comment on staying to wait and went on to the nearest (far) clue.
Clue: A picture of a shelter (?) by the bench with number 9
Clue to location: A mini bridge with many edges (?)
Task: Nail it!
Basically, it's very damn-ed near. -.- Mr Siew again.. So there, we saw Group 12 there. ;l When we reach the other side of the beach by crossing the beach, they finished. -.- (So fast..) The game is about balancing all nails on a long nail which is attached to a brick. No nails are supposed to touch the brick and sand is not allowed. After thinking like hell, Cheryl gave us a clue. Then Hanyi and Brian got an idea, but was paiseh to say. -.- After that, under forced circumstances, they got it! WEEE~ lols. Here is how it goes:
Task: Further-est Reach at the Luge
We were supposed to try to put a rubber band as far as possible. ;l
I was very amazed to know that we are not the last, like 2nd/3rd. The other half of the class was first. x.X WE tried the game and it successfully ended. We got our points! WOOHOO! Sadly, I can't write down the solution here. It's damned long. X:
So back to the school. We are going to have campfire soon. T.T damn damn scared. 'Cos we didn't really do much practise etc. :( Fast forwarding
Finally, campfire night started. All those crapping and finally our turn..
At first, Shu yi was supposed to shout 1F, are you ready? Then suddenly Amanda say "STOP!" . LOLS. Don't wish to talk about that. Too embarassing. T.T So finally we finished it. Heaved a sigh of relief ok?
We learnt a new game during debrief (or was it earlier?) called Sup sip. ;pUsing the above hand actions, say sup/sip and pass on and on. The game stops when someone does the wrong action or say wrongly/tongue tied. :P
Then something went wrong. . The trainers released us. When everyone left to take their things to bathe, they suddenly ask me to call them back. Then suddenly say there is no need to. Then when me and JiaJun was about to bathe, we saw Sinvyest and company calling us back. We don't know what happened. So we called Sivam to call everyone down to the canteen to fall in. -.- BLEH! We were supposed to fall in! Everyone waited for us ok?! So paiseh. T.T So in the end, I have to run up and down to call the other classmates back. We wasted everyone their 15 minutes of bathing and supper/debrief time and.. all of us have only 45 minutes before lights out. (Guilty)
LIGHTS OUT @ 11PM
Day 3, last day
ASSEMBLY @ 7PM
I almost overslept. :P Woke up at 6.40 and rushed like mad. Then suddenly Mr Kung ask all of us to assemble at the field instead of Arena. :( So last minute. Alot of the normal tech students late then they got 6 demerit points! OMG.
After that, we had telematch.! One game was like pass the message. The trainer will squeeze the first person with a number of pulse. Then they will pass on and on until the last person (Hanyi). When the everyone finished, the last person must run around the Arena to change the numbers into letters (poorthings. ROFL) then come back to the group and re-arrange the letters. Hanyi finished finding the letters and came back. Zhihua got confidence. So all of us went to the front, told the answer and had to say a cheer. :P We got 3rd place. Okay already lah. :D
Next we played the longest line. ROFL! It was a really.. lousy game. Everyone used papers and toilet papers. We didn't cheat l0rhx. We really had the toilet rolls, not like some other group run to toilet and get one. >:( In the end, alot of the line got disconnected because of strong wind and sabotage-ing from the trainers. :( :(.
After that had lunch and area cleaning. We cleaned the canteen and placed everything in order. I feel that everyone really helped out and the canteen was REALLY REALLY clean. Praise usplease. (: The trainer allowed us to drink the leftover cold drink from lunch.
I've typed a very long post for you guys. I expect lots of replies on tagboard. :)
